Many of you will already know that the French word for show is ‘salon’…which is unsurprising given the English translation of the word. We go to these things to better our appearances or to show off our best assets to the yachting world after all, and then neck cans of beer until the early hours with total strangers all in the name of networking. Selah.
Great morning on MY Hurricane Run. Thank you Camper & Nicholsons International for the opportunity to visit one of the busiest charter yachts out there in the market.
We kicked it off with a special Camper & Nicholsons press visit onboard the beautiful Feadship HURRICANE RUN
And aside from the rather tasty pastries, it was interesting to check in on the progress of CN’s business development strategy – including a new office in Hong Kong and a re-invigorated New Construction division under the watchful eye of Fabio Ermetto.
OceanCo’s JUBILEE has been the talk of the show, and what better way to see her than from the water?
Sitting next to AQUARIUS on the cruise ship dock, JUBILEE is a real symbol of just how strong the Dutch Yachting industry is in 2017.
The acceleration in this Rafnar ehf. tender is absolutely INSANE ⏱| The Monaco Yacht Show 2017 #mys2017

In the afternoon we were invited on an adrenaline-fuelled tender ride with amazing Rafnar team.
Based in Iceland, these tenders are built for withstanding the turbulent nature of our oceans whilst maintaining comfort. They reach high speeds in seconds but you’ll hardly notice due to the hull and keel technology which results in 20 times less slamming! These boats may have been constructed with explorers in mind but they are a perfect addition to any yacht. Check them out down at the tenders and toys area!
Back on the docks the content team were working hard at finding new and exciting angles for our posts.
It’s thirsty work this social media game… Look out for the SYC squad wandering around the show today (and buy them a drink)!
As night fell, we took ourselves up to Monte Carlo and enjoyed a panoramic view of the incredible fleet at anchor
The Fraser Yachts Captain’s party was also well underway…and here endeth the coverage of Day 2!
