We all know that crew member, the Australian one, who speaks with glassy eyes about cruising at home. And you would be hard-pressed to find someone who didn’t know about the Great Barrier Reef. Yet, there are many more destinations to cruise in and around Australia and from the 20th to 22nd April, the Gold Coast will host the second edition of the Australian Superyacht Rendezvous (ASR) – an event that is all about the destinations and charter yachts of the land down under.
If you are looking to charter in Australia, here is just a small selection of the yachts that will be in attendance.
M/Y Silentworld
This superyacht is one of the most intrepid charter yachts in Australia and the largest at this edition of ASR. The 39-metre Oassive cruises from the very tip of the Great Barrier Reef on the York Peninsula right down to Sydney but is most at home in the South Pacific. As a regular visitor to these tropical paradises, Silentworld has an arsenal of dive equipment to make the most of the natural and untouched beauty found below the surface of the Pacific Ocean. The yacht accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms.

M/Y Masteka 2
This 37-metre Dubois designed yacht is a favourite on the Australian charter scene cruising the Whitsunday Islands, most of the east coast and out to New Caledonia, where she is the first foreign-flagged superyacht to be granted a charter licence. Her crew includes a fully qualified dive master and there are more than enough toys and tenders to account for every taste.
M/Y Masteka 2’s forward sundeck is adorned with a jacuzzi from which guests soak up the views of Sydney Harbour, her homeport, whilst the rear deck has casual dining and sun lounges. Masteka 2 caters for 12 guests in five staterooms and is an ideal yacht for families.

M/Y Settlement
This 34.5 metre Sunseeker is based in Australia. Accommodating 10 guests in five staterooms, she has a cruising speed of 19 knots to get you where you need to be while enjoying the modernity of her black walnut interior. One of Settlement’s most remarkable features is the extendable balconies off the main saloon – because you don’t want to compromise the panoramic views of Australia’s east coast where she predominantly charters. As fishing charters in Australia are very popular (for good reason), Settlement is set up for extended voyages and ready for mother shipping.

M/Y Oneworld
Not only is M/Y Oneworld the newest superyacht to reach Australia’s shores, she is also making her world debut on the charter market at the 2018 Australian Superyacht Rendezvous. Her styling and interior perfectly represent the current minimalist trend in yachting and she has accommodation for 12 guests in en-suite staterooms and cabins. The English may be generally considered as sedate and gentile but this English-built Sunseeker of monochrome beauty most certainly isn’t. As M/Y Murcielago cruises at 26 knots with a maximum speed of 47 knots, she is not for the faint of heart. Having started her life in the Mediterranean, Murcielago encompasses all the features of that lifestyle – sunbeds a plenty, retractable sunroof, swim platform, fully appointed staterooms and a state-of-the-art sound system. This daring superyacht is available for charter for up to 12 guests in Australia’s nautical hotspots and will be sure to blow your socks off.
