Epic Expansion on the Horizon for Royal Huisman

Royal Huisman - Holland Jachtbouw facilities

Word on the street is that Royal Huisman are heading to Amsterdam. We have been told that the Dutch shipyard giant will be taking over the facilities previously owned by Holland Jachtbouw (HJB).

Royal Huisman will be adding the impressive 12,000 square meter facility to an already enviable list of shipyards. The company’s home will remain in Vollenhove, Holland (30,000 square metres) and the shipyard in Emden, Germany will still boast their largest working area of 300,000 square meters.

The ex-HJB facility will add three state-of-the-art halls reaching up to 60m to RH’s workspace.  The managing director of RH, Roemer Boogaard, has said “We regret to see a yard like HJB eventually cease to exist, but we do hope that with the intention of Royal Huisman to acquire the facilities we are able to keep the Netherlands firmly on the map for superyacht owners, keeping in mind our plans for diversification in the motor and sailing yacht sector”.

Well said, Roemer. Let’s raise our glasses to the future of the superyacht sector in the Netherlands!
