Experiential Yachting Forum 2022

Changing the perception of yachting: What is the most incredible experience you’ve had on a yacht, or delivered to a client?

Yacht Club De Monaco – Experiential Yachting Forum 2022 will take place on the 21st of April. The first hybrid international forum to ever be held will attract key individuals from within the Superyacht sector, as well as yacht owners, charterers, owner’s representatives, and of course Captains, to discuss and share their experiences in this new and exciting era. They will be discovering unique yachting experiences and activities which will bring additional value and purpose to the use of a vessel for yacht owners, charterers, and crew.

In the yachting industry, the concept of Experience Economy represents a rapidly growing segment, where the impact of yachting goods and services on people is highlighted with purpose and added value. Over the past few years, we’ve seen a rapid increase in yacht owners who are commissioning vessels that are destined beyond the boundaries of conventional yachting use. But, for companies to deliver, their approach requires specialist knowledge and expertise in the fields of Ocean and Human Health, Marine Science, Neuroscience, Philosophy, Metaverse, AI & VR Technology, and more.

An exclusive comment from the Managing Director of Immersive International, Tommy Lexen:

In our last interview on who Immersive International are, you’d spoke about ensuring there’s good communication with crew. Can you give a crew member who’s new to experiential yachting an example of what it is, why they should attend the event?

Tommy Lexen: Immersive’s focus within the Experiential Yachting market is on driving innovation for ultra-bespoke spatial experiences, creating unique constantly evolving digital art installations and bespoke immersive environments that bring physical and virtual realities closer together for owners and guests. We transform complex spaces and make them come alive through beautiful, dynamic, and engaging visuals, using the most innovative and intelligent creative technologies on the market.

During our talk at the forum we will explore three immersive design concepts that we believe will revolutionise the Superyacht experience: Spatial NFT Commissions, Hyper personalised Smart Art and Augmented Mapping Experiences

To make all these concepts a reality, it’s key we bring crew members and industry stakeholders on board the journey in an engaging, inspiring, and entertaining way. This digital experience revolution will need digital native crew members to make sure bespoke immersive live experiences, whether they are physical, virtual, or augmented, run smoothly and friction-free on the yacht. Getting early exposure and insights into what is available and what’s coming to the market in the nearby future will prepare crews to better understand, operate, maintain and experience these digital installations and technologies themselves.

The Format:

The format of the forum is a series of interactive short talks running from 9 am to 4:45 pm, animated and moderated by Martin Redmayne (The Superyacht Group) and Peter Economides (Felix BNI), where the fusion of on-site and online perfectly merge to allow the two audiences to have a voice throughout the day.

The audience is encouraged to be proactive during the event. You will be in for the chance to get featured in Forbes Monaco and on the Experiential yachting Social Media. And for those on-site, the floor will be opened up to the audience with a chance to
come on stage and share their input live with the audience for the debate. The event is initiated by Maria Alekseenko Magan, a Monaco-based new-generation yacht entrepreneur, whose passion for yachting with purpose spreads far beyond usual perceptions.

What are you in for the chance of winning at the Experiential Yachting Forum 2022?

2 nights aboard Sunseekers, M/Y Stardust of Mary, exploring the Atlantic Ocean adventures in Portugal. The luxury vessel offers high-end vacations for charter guests.

Experiential yachting forum 2022 - Win 2 nights on M/Y Stardust of mary

In light of the current worldwide events, if required, the topics, input, and content will be adjusted to remain relevant and bring value out of respect to the situation. The forum has a purpose to unite and a chance for all to share our voices and provide a purpose. Now more than ever is this important.

Will you be joining us for the Experiential Yachting Forum 2022 onsite at Yacht Club De Monaco, or online? Let us know over on our socials by clicking here.

Superyacht Chef Jamie Tullys Gourmet Valentines Day Menu 2022

Superyacht chef Jamie Tully and the owner of Culinary Genius Store has put together a complete guide to a gourmet Valentines Day menu

Superyacht chef Jamie Tully

Can you tell us a little about yourself, your journey as a yacht crew, and the yacht you are currently onboard?

My name is Jamie Tully, I am from a small town in Wales UK called Builth Wells. I’ve been cooking since I can remember and I guess I follow the whole cliché, baking with my father and visiting my grandmother on a Sunday with a spread of homemade cakes and scones. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a chef, but I knew I wanted to be amongst the best. From culinary school, I became fully qualified, went through the ranks of some well-recognized hotels and restaurants in the UK.

Where did your yachting career as Superyacht Chef begin?

When I was 12, I visited Monaco with my family. I found myself extremely driven by the countries wealth, money, and vibrance. I remember seeing a chef step off a 50m yacht. That’s when I knew being a Superyacht chef is what I wanted to do. On the same holiday, I sat in the Café De Paris with my family and ordered ice cream. Ten years later, I sat at the exact same table and ordered the same exact ice cream, but this time I was on my day off from my work as a chef on a 50m yacht. It was a very proud and rewarding moment for me.

Being a chef onboard yachts makes me proud to have chosen this career path. My love for food and cooking has allowed me to travel around the world, seeing things and places most people will never get the chance to see. I have met people from all over the world that I now call friends. Cooked with the most exquisite seafood, the most expensive and sought-after ingredients on the planet. And not forgetting, worked on some of the most luxurious yachts, ski chalets, and villas in the world. I’m only 28 years old and I’m just getting started.

Which Yacht are you currently aboard?

I am currently employed as head chef on a 40m charter yacht. The yacht has recently gone through a complete refit and is about to be relaunched as part of an incredible brand. At this stage, I cannot disclose the vessel’s name. However, I can say that I’m extremely proud to be part of the refit and I’m looking forward to being part of its future. There are some really big things to come…

Planning the perfect gourmet Valentines Day menu

Planning menus for special occasions is something exciting, it’s something to celebrate. Valentine’s day in particular is great because it’s what’s romance without indulgence? The world of fine-dining sits perfectly with Valentines’ Day.

The following is an example of a gourmet Valentines day menu I would serve a couple onboard a yacht in 2022:

Gourmet Valentines Day Menu - StartersGourmet Valentines day menu - Main dishesGourmet Valentines day menu - Desserts

If you were to be taken out, what would your ideal Valentines’ meal look like?

If someone took me out for Valentines Day, I would definitely want to go to Nobu. I love all Asian flavors and techniques, so this is my favorite restaurant. My favorite dishes are the Miso cod and the Squid spaghetti – Simply delicious.

Lastly, 3 Superyacht Chefs who have inspired you throughout your career?

Many Superyacht chefs inspire me and I’m pretty lucky to be well connected in the industry via social media. If I had to choose 3 It would be Chef Danny Davies, Chef Dean Harrison, and Chef Andrew Lichaa– all of these guys cook and produce beautiful plates of food. They really sum up what being a yacht chef is all about.

Dubai Superyacht Summit 2021: What Is It?

The International Superyacht Summit is coming to Dubai this year from 8-9th December 2021. It’s an important event for the superyacht industry, but what does it involve, and what happens there? Read on to find out everything there is to know about the event.

What is the International Superyacht Summit?

The International Superyacht Summit, which started in 2018 was initially dedicated to the development of the UAE as a preferred winter destination for superyachts.

However, organisers are now looking to cast a wider net and address other global topics by introducing two new themes: The first theme addresses how superyacht marina developments empower lifestyle and tourism. Also, it looks to discuss the role of the upscale yachting industry in new and consolidated tourist destinations. The second theme concerns emerging trends in superyacht ownership.

It asks how builders can cater to the needs of a younger generation of owners and charterers. This trend brings an increased awareness of environmental issues and a generation of buyers who will not accept unsustainable practices.

Where is it taking place?

This year, the Summit is taking place on the prestigious Queen Elizabeth 2, in Mina Rashid Marina in Dubai. The Queen Elizabeth 2 reopened its doors in April 2018 as one of Dubai’s most iconic hotels. She has a rich history spanning more than 50 years and is saturated with British heritage. Today, she continues her legacy as a 13-deck hotel, dining, entertainment and events destination.

What happens at the event?

The summit, which is primarily a place for networking and making connections, includes many conferences and presentations. Top industry figures such as Farouk Nefzi of Feadship and Jan Timmerman of Royal Huisman will be of those speaking. A host of topics will facilitate thought-provoking ideas and discussions. Topics such as ‘building the perfect superyacht destination’, and ‘next-generation customer experience’ are on the agenda.

Antigua Yacht Show 2021: What To Expect At This Year’s Event

The 2021 Antigua Yacht Charter Show kicks off on 4th December and runs until 9th December. It is an annual event that sees stunning charter yachts showcased to a sun-soaked Caribbean backdrop. We are bringing you a rundown of everything to expect at the event this year.

60th Anniversary Celebrations

After the cancellation of last year’s show due to Covid-19, the Antigua Yacht Charter Show is back and celebrating its 60th anniversary. Organisers have put together the biggest show yet to celebrate this major milestone. Impressive boats, great food and an exciting chefs competition are amongst the entertainment.

Where is the Antigua Yacht Show?

The show takes place over three scenic locations in Antigua. Nelson’s Dockyard Marina in English Harbour serves as the main hub of activity for the show. There are further showings at Falmouth Harbour Marina and the Antigua Yacht Club Marina, both in Falmouth Harbour. The locations are all connected by a shuttle service, making travel between venues a breeze for visitors.

How many yachts are Attending?

Between 50 and 70 yachts will attend this year. They will range from more compact vessels to enormous 50+m superyachts. One of the largest yachts attending is the 65.4m M/Y Triumph, built by renowned shipyard Benetti. You can read about the five yachts we are most excited to see here.

What is the schedule of the show?

There is plenty to see and do over the six days, including numerous yacht showings and opportunities to network with other event-goers. Additionally, there are dedicated times each day to enjoy delicious local food. The final day allows guests to book private viewings and get on the water. Visitors can enjoy all this whilst taking in the beauty of Antigua.

Are there Covid precautions?

Organisers of the 2021 show are taking precautions to make sure visitors can all enjoy the event safely. Networking events are organised with Covid in mind, whilst sanitation and regular cleaning will keep guests safe. Also, a Mobile Medical Service will be stationed at Nelson’s Dockyard during the Antigua Charter Yacht Show. A doctor and team of nurses providing Covid testing will be readily available for all visitors.
