Her Voyage
Cloudbreak began her voyage in Iceland and from there cruised to Greenland, Alaska, British Columbia (Canada), Chile, Patagonia and on to Antarctica.

A Team Effort
For Second Officer Tristan Najbicz and rotational partner Seth Dafoe, the men behind the camera, documenting Cloudbreak’s adventures has developed a natural creative talent and become an important part of their job role, but it’s very much a team effort.
“I’d never even flown a drone before joining Cloudbreak! Everything is filmed and photographed by the crew. From Chief Officer Brandon Whitson to the deckhands, it’s not unusual to see any of us flying the drones or shooting footage with our Canons, Digital SLRs, GoPros or iPhones. Most of the aerial footage is shot by myself or the Chief Officer, as we’re on board most of the time, and close-up action footage usually comes from the deckhand’s GoPros, which are attached to the hip to capture anything and everything!”
Says Tristan. For Tristan, his favoured media content are their most recent edits, as they’re the ones drawing on the full scope of the team’s experience and editing skills.
Tristan’s advice for other superyacht crew looking to capture their charters and trips in similar fashion, is simply to film everything and from as many different angles as possible. “There’s a saying that ‘slow is pro’ – when it comes to drones and rotational shots, keep it slow and steady for a professional outcome. Time lapses also add a great dynamic, slowing down and speeding up real-time footage, and of course you need some music! Music can make or break a video, consider the transitions in a song and its beat,” adds Tristan. From Antarctica, Cloudbreak went on to visit South Africa, the Seychelles and Madagascar before a period spent in the Mediterranean’s more familiar waters touring Italy, Spain, Montenegro, Croatia and Turkey, then onto Norway.

Heading East, Cloudbreak then made her way to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka. Next on the agenda is Asia, with Cloudbreak available for charter in exotic Thailand and culturally diverse Malaysia.
