MGMT, our favourite Superyacht agent and THE go to company looking after all Superyachts visiting the UK is looking for a new team member to join them full time.

There is a good reason that our Life After Yachting segment is one of the most read on the website, as we all know, nobody works on yachts forever. So, here is an interesting opportunity within our own group of companies for any Superyacht crew out there looking to make the move ashore…

About The Job

Here is what managing Director Mark Upton told us MGMT is looking for;

“The UK as a Superyacht destination is getting busier and busier. We are looking for a hard working, proactive ex Superyacht crew member to join the team ASAP as a Yacht Operations assistant. Here are some of the attributes we feel you MUST have to come and work with us;

  • Must have a few years’ experience working on Superyachts. Position is not important but an understanding of the industry is essential.
  • Computer literate.
  • We are not a text/email only company and so you must be happy to pick up the phone and talk to people.
  • Friendly, outgoing, confident achievers are what makes up our team. You need to be one too. We get things done quickly and efficiently with a smile. Is this you?
  • Organisational, planning, time keeping and recording (notes, hours, requests etc) skills are essential within our team.
  • Ability to take guidance and instruction are essential. We expect you to be great at this due to your yachting background…

Our new team member will be working in our small team based in the UK looking after visiting Superyachts. You will be responsible to our Yacht Operations Director and duties will include;

  • Liaison with Captains, management companies and heads of department on board
  • Itinerary planning
  • Excursion, experience and destination booking
  • Coordination of trips once vessels arrive
  • Reacting to and dealing with/fixing issues in real time (this is the challenging part)
  • Using your yachting experience to pre-empt requests and stay one step ahead.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person and a great chance to use a lot of the experience you have gained working on yachts. You will also learn a lot of new skills and have a chance to develop/move up within the company as we grow”

  • Please note this is a UK based position. You must live in the UK and have a legal right to work there to apply for this position. All MGMT staff work from home but do travel within the UK for work. Therefore you must have a full UK driving license too.
